Do You Work Out Mid-Workday?

Do you work out mid-workday? How do you discuss your unavailbility with colleagues, if at all? Do you do it around lunchtime? Block time on your calendar? Check your email mid-workout? How long are you gone from your desk on average? Do you feel like there are differences in how to handle it if you’re working from home or in the office that day? (Even if it’s just a 10 or 15 minute walk, do you treat it like a workout and carve time out around it?)
I’ve worked with a lot of people who exercised mid-workday — I still remember one partner who was very diligent about getting to his spinning class, and completely unapologetic about telling people he’d be unavailable for that hour.
It’s been far too long since we talked about this — previous discussions included the etiquette of working out at a gym near the office, what to wear to workout in front of coworkers, and how to pack a gym bag for the office, as well as tips on how to sneak in a midday workout, how to hire a personal trainer, and how to fit exercise into a busy day.
